Gem had her middle school musical this last week. It was a collection of Broadway songs and scenes. The kids had to put together a scene and audition it. Gem, the little director she is, decided to put together the 'I Just Can't Wait to be King' scene from Lion King. She was Simba, which was a challenge because she wasn't used to playing a boy. She talked several of her friends into doing it with her even though it was the first time performing for most of them. I know that I am bias, but I thought that her scene was the best one! I can't wait for more school plays and musicals to follow.
