A Bee, a Reaper and a Peacock: Halloween 2010

Halloween this year was an entire weekend event. We started out on Friday with Gem's party. She had a murder mystery, thanks to the talents of my mom. The kids got into it, even though they had to randomly pick their roles. Nothing funnier than a teenage boy being a cheerleader or a teenage girl being captain of the football team. They finished the night off with a scary movie and declared it a big success! She had her friend sleepover that night and join us for the next day and night as well. On Saturday, Boo and TM went to the local Pumpkinfest. They had fun collecting treats and making crafts. After that we went to our church's Halloween party at the barn. There was yummy food, games to play, and a trunk or treat at the end. Gem went off to another Halloween party that night, while LM had his party. He just wanted lots to eat, Wii games and to watch Ghost Busters 2. He had fun, but plans to go bigger and scarier next year with Gem. The next day we spent with my sister's family and my parents. Since it was Sunday, we didn't go out to officially trick or treat, but my amazing parents set up their own. Each kiddo was given a bag, and all the adults had a sack of candy. We had to pick a door, everything from the bathroom to the pantry. The kids went around and around trick or treating each door. It was a great way to end the holiday. Just for fun, since it was my nephew's birthday dinner, he picked a Thanksgiving feast. My parents are going to be out of town for the official one, and he didn't want to miss Nanna's sweet potatoes. I guess that was a good way to look toward our next holiday too!
