January 2012

This month was much quieter, but we still managed to have fun.

First we celebrated the Chinese New Year and the year of the Dragon. We had yummy Chinese food with my family. We did a dragon craft, ate Chinese candy, and exchanged red envelopes for the kids. We even had fireworks this year!

Second was T's birthday. He and I went on a date night and then we had a quiet night on his actual birthday.

My parents decided to let us escape for the weekend to celebrate his birthday and our upcoming anniversary. We went to Glen Eyrie, a castle from the late 1800's. It was beautiful, quiet and very interesting. We were able to stay in the room of General Jackson Palmer who settled Colorado Springs. It was kind of strange to pull down the red ropes and go into our room. It was like staying in a museum exhibit! It was a huge room and very beautiful. It was pretty quiet too, which surprised us. The next day we saw all the big horn sheep that graze and hang out by this castle. It felt like we had stepped back into time and into another part of the world.
