For Gem's party this year, she wanted an Academy Award type party. She picked five movies that she wanted to see. We sent out a ballot in the ticket invitation and told the guests to arrive in formal attire. We made a red carpet photo op complete with paparazzi (LM, Boo, and a couple of friends). The guests didn't really like having the flashes going off in their faces every few seconds. We just said that is the price of fame. The guests looked great, and one boy even rented a tux for the night. After the photo ops and mingling, they had fancy appetizers and fake champagne. She had a movie reel cake, if you can't tell, and then we had the award show. Each person represented a category and had to open the envelope, announce the winner and give an impromptu speech. Afterwards they watched the "Best Picture" winner. We sent them home with Swag bags full of chocolates, a pearl bracelet for the girls and a fancy pen for the boys. It was a lot of fun and Gem declared it the best party EVER! 1. The Appetizers (the Swag bags are in the background if you can see them).

What a great party. Hearing you describe them sounds fantastic but it's so cool to get the whole picture with pictures!

I am impressed.... again! What fun and I am jealous. I could never think of all the fun things you do with your kids. What beautiful family memories YOU are making for each of your children!
