Day 3~ The Whole Gang on the Ship

First of all, you need to know the background on this trip. My mom, the most incredible Nana in the world, paid for the two big kids to go. This didn't mean just a cruise, it meant everything you could possibly imagine to make it the best trip ever! My sister and I asked if we could hitch along with our little ones if we paid our way. Of course we didn't even fully do that. Here's how it all happened. Five years ago Gem was diagnosed with dyslexia. What this meant is that she was reading at a first grade level at the end of third grade. Not much longer after that, LM was also diagnosed. Apparently it is a gene thing, and both TM and my dad have it. Anyway...my mom decided that in order to be the best Nana she could, she would train herself, and tutor for free, my two children. This was thousands of dollars that she invested and saved my family. As a reward for finishing and to motivate my kids, and subsequently my nephews (that gene thing again), she decided to take them on a cruise when they were done. It worked, both the motivation and the tutoring. Now both of my kiddos read ABOVE grade level and get all A's and B's in school. Top that off with the trip of a lifetime and that is why my mom wins the prize. To make it even more fun, she made us all t-shirts and bought hats to wear on the ship. Needless to say, we were easily recognizable that day, but being associated with such fine people was great! Thank you mom, for everything!
