There were several different Christmas parties this year, so I'm going to try and get them all.

The first party was Boo's preschool one. They did a little program showing about the symbols of Christmas. They had a gift exchange and lots of treats. One of the boys announced that he was her boyfriend that day, but lucky for us, they moved over the break!

Gem was also able to come to part of Boo's preschool and teach them 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' in sign language.

Next we had LM's school party. They played Minute to Win It and had a lot of goodies too. He is loving his class this year and is so happy to be back at his old elementary school.

We had a church Christmas party with a yummy dinner, a musical program, and even Santa Claus came to visit. Boo could hardly wait to see him and was first in line when he finally came.

Our Spanish friends host a Mexican Posada every year for the Christmas season. This year it ended up being more of a fiesta. There was a ton of good Mexican food, a huge pinata, great music and lots of fun!

Gem and LM both wanted to have parties of their own this year. LM had a couple of his best friends over for Wii games, food, and the most exciting thing...watching the lunar eclipse. Since this was the first time in 300 years that a full lunar eclipse happened on the winter's solstice, we had to all stay up to watch it. It started at 11:30 pm and went till about 1 am. It was a beautiful clear night, but really cold! We huddled in sleeping bags, drank hot cocoa and peppermint tea and watched a truly amazing sight! It was definitely worth it, and LM's friends were glad that they slept over so they could see it with us.

Finally,Gem had a party with a lot of food, several fun games, including a White Elephant gift exchange, and then they hung out and watched 'Elf'. It looked like they had a really good time because they house was a complete wreck in the morning. Gem learned the lesson that if you want to have more parties, you have to clean them up before mom sees the mess!
It was a very busy Christmas season, but everyone had a lot of fun, so it was worth it!
